Shipping and Exchange Policy – ClearIAS

This Shipping and Exchange Policy (“Policy”) applies to all purchases made from ClearIAS through our websites and authorised platforms
(collectively, “ClearIAS”, “we”, “our”, “us”). By purchasing our products or services, you agree to the terms of this Policy,
subject to applicable laws in India.
1. Scope of this Policy
This Policy covers:
- Digital Products / Online Courses
Online courses, test series, e-books, PDFs, and other digital content. - Physical Products / Offline Study Materials
Printed books, printed notes, and any other physical study materials shipped to you.
2. Digital Products – Online Courses & e-Materials
2.1 Instant Access (No Physical Shipping)
Most of our online courses, test series, and digital products are delivered
instantly after successful payment.
Access details (login credentials, course activation, download links, etc.) will be provided via:
- Your registered email ID; and/or
- Your user dashboard / account on our platform.
2.2 Delivery Completion for Digital Products
A digital product is considered “delivered” when:
- Course access is enabled in your account; and/or
- Download links / access links are sent to your registered email / dashboard.
2.3 Technical Issues
If you face any technical issues accessing the course or digital content, you must write to our support team at
contactus@clearias.com with payment details and relevant screenshots.
We will make reasonable efforts to resolve technical issues (login, access, activation errors) within a reasonable time.
2.4 No Refund on Digital Products
Once access to a digital product / online course is provided,
no refund will be issued, except where required by applicable Indian law.
Please read the course description, inclusions, validity period, and system requirements carefully before purchase.
3. Physical Products – Books & Printed Study Materials
3.1 Dispatch Time
Any offline study materials / physical products will generally be
dispatched within 7 working days from the date of successful order confirmation.
In most cases, we strive to dispatch on the same day or the next working day,
subject to stock availability and operational constraints.
3.2 Shipping Method & Delivery Time
Shipping is done through reputed courier services / India Post or other logistic partners.
The delivery time after dispatch will depend on your location and the service provider. Typically:
- Metro / Tier-1 cities: 3–7 working days after dispatch
- Other locations: 5–10 working days after dispatch (approximate)
These timelines are indicative and may vary due to factors beyond our control
(weather, strikes, holidays, logistical issues, etc.).
3.3 Shipping Charges
Shipping charges, if any, will be displayed at checkout. Any offers like “Free Shipping” will be clearly
mentioned wherever applicable.
3.4 Delivery Completion for Physical Products
A physical product is considered “delivered” when:
- The courier / postal tracking shows successful delivery to the address provided by you; or
- It is received and acknowledged by you or any person at your delivery address.
4. Exchange Policy for Defective or Damaged Physical Products
4.1 Eligible Cases for Exchange
You may request an exchange of physical study materials only in the following cases:
- Manufacturing defect (misprint, missing pages, serious binding issues, etc.)
- Damage in transit (severely torn, wet, or unusable books on arrival)
- Wrong item shipped (different title/edition from what you ordered).
4.2 Conditions & Time Limit
- You must raise an exchange request within 7 days of the date of delivery.
- Send an email to contactus@clearias.com with:
- Order ID
- Description of the issue
- Clear photos/videos showing the defect/damage/wrong item.
- The product must be:
- In the same condition as received, except for the reported defect/damage; and
- With original packaging (as far as reasonably possible).
4.3 Exchange Process
After verifying your request and evidence, we may:
- Arrange a reverse pickup; or
- Ask you to ship the item back to a specified address (with instructions); or
- In some cases, ask for only photo/video proof without return, if the defect is clearly established.
Once approved, we will:
- Send a replacement copy of the same title/product; or
- Provide an equivalent product if the original title is out of stock (with your consent).
4.4 No Cash Refund for Defective Items
In cases of defect/damage/wrong item, our primary remedy will be
exchange / replacement, not a cash refund,
except if a refund is mandated by applicable Indian law or replacement is impossible.
5. No Refund Policy (Except as Required by Law)
5.1 General Rule
All sales are final.
No refund will be provided for:
- Online courses, test series, PDFs, e-books, or any digital products, once access is granted.
- Physical books or study materials, except in cases of defects/damage as stated above and where law expressly requires refund.
5.2 Non-Eligibility for Refund (Illustrative)
Refunds will not be provided for reasons such as:
- Change of mind after purchase.
- You no longer need the course or material.
- You did not use or complete the course.
- You expected a different teaching style / question difficulty / exam result.
- Delay caused by incorrect/incomplete address or unavailability of the customer to receive the package.
- Failure to check compatibility / requirements mentioned before purchase.
5.3 Legal Compliance
This No Refund Policy is subject to applicable provisions of Indian law,
including consumer protection laws. If any specific provision of law mandates a refund in a particular
situation, we will comply with such legal requirements.
6. Order Modification / Cancellation (Physical Products)
6.1 Before Dispatch
You may request modification/cancellation of orders for physical products before dispatch
by contacting us at contactus@clearias.com with your order ID.
Approval is at our discretion, subject to order status and operational feasibility.
6.2 After Dispatch
Once an item has been dispatched, cancellation or refund is generally not possible,
except in cases of:
- Defective / damaged / wrong product, as per Section 4; or
- As otherwise required by applicable law.
7. Customer Responsibility – Address & Contact Details
It is your responsibility to ensure:
- Correct and complete shipping address, including PIN code and landmarks if necessary.
- Correct mobile number and email ID for communication and OTP-based delivery (if applicable).
We are not liable for non-delivery, delay, or mis-delivery due to:
- Incorrect / incomplete address;
- Repeated unsuccessful attempts due to consignee unavailability;
- Refusal to accept the shipment.
8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
8.1 Governing Law
This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the
laws of India.
8.2 Jurisdiction
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or in connection with this Policy, your purchase,
or use of our products/services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at
Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), Kerala, India.
